82 :: 大阪 JAPAN DAY 2

DAY 2 LET’S HAVE KOBE BEEF

KERA ARENA

This is the day that can be considered as the day Yooker aka me- spends the most money in the group. KERA ARENA (Kera shop)be the death of me. Carrying a lot of different brands in the building, I mainly wanted to shop for my favorite – ALGONQUINS.

Before we went there, we did stop by Closet Child. Closet Child is a shop that sells some new, but mainly preloved lolita and gothic/punk clothing. We spent most of the time in there looking for a lolita skirt for our friend. I didn’t see anything I really liked (there were a few from Vivienne Westwood but they were too expensive) After getting what we needed, we walked to Starbucks right next to the KERA building as it was really cold out.

View from inside Starbucks.

I collect Starbucks tumblers so I got one of Osaka. I forgot what drink it was but it was pumpkin (not pumpkin spice latte though).

I forgot the price of the drinks there but I’m quite surprised they have a “small” there, which is smaller than a Tall sized drink. The variety of snacks and desserts there was pretty impressive as well.

——– THIS IS THE PART WHERE JQ AND I WENT CRAZY AND NEVER TOOK ANY PICS CAUSE WE WERE TOO BUSY JUST BUYING STUFF SO I’LL SKIP IT AND TELL A SHORT STORY AT THE END TOGETHER WITH THE LOOT PICTURE ——–

81 :: 大阪 JAPAN DAY 1

Let me just put this here. That’s how productive my 2016 has been that I never wrote anything to continue.

I should get slapped for this, please forgive me. I’m finally going to update the blog about one of the best trips I’ve ever had with my favorite people. I’ll try to remember as much details as possible (with the help of photos throughout the trip).

Day 1 OTAKU DAY OUT

We went to Nipponbashi Den Den Town and Tsutaya, Dotonburi.

Bless winter. The hot weather all year long in Malaysia is unbearable.

77 :: AKIRA

I had to break my blogging hiatus cause of the recent events that happened in Singapore. As the title says, it’s about AKIRA! Which Akira? That goddess from KERA magazine, the vocals for Disacode, the designer for Malus14. LOOK HER UP IF YOU DON’T ALREADY KNOW!!!

Warning: This post will have a lot of caps I think.

20160610_172506I went to Singapore last Thursday (9th June). The main reason for this really last minute trip was for Akira, I booked my flight like a week before or so? I’ve been waiting for more than 4 years to meet Akira in real life. The closest thing I have are her CDs/KERA magazines and 2 years ago a signature Reika got for me when they were in Houston as guests.

Really glad I had friends that were willing to take me in so I save on accommodation fees ;_; Then the kind hearted ones that fed me too. Ahaha you guys know who you are //much love to all of you//  Continue reading

73 :: Journey to Osaka (day 0)

I’ve been counting down the days to this trip, so yes I’ve been that excited. This is also by far my longest trip overseas.
So how it started off, I booked bus tickets to KLIA. Which is where my flight is going to depart, since there’s only one direct bus a day (11.45pm every night) I took the one on the 23rd. I would definitely miss my flight if I took the one on the 24th as my flight is early in the morning.

The night of the 23rd didn’t start out great. The bus was really late, and I found out the bus that was supposed to come broke down so they switched to another one which is a less comfortable one. 30seater changed to a 40seater and by the time it got here the bus was kinda full. So I took the seat at the most back cause I didn’t wanna sit with most of the guys there (plus they had some B.O)

This is the bus situation. But Continue reading

72 :: Where to find fabric and EVA foams in Jakarta?

Pasar Tanah Abang (Tanah Abang Market)! I wouldn’t have found the shops to get the foams if its not for my Indonesian friends’ help. (Thank you so much, Sora!)

Local name: Busa Ati

Or better known as EVA foam. Some of us know it as the shoe sole sheets, funsheets, rubber sheets or even craft foam. To my understanding, this sheet actually comes in different quality and material. Some are more porous, some are more compact while some are more rubbery.

These foams from Jakarta were mainly used to make hats or songkok (a kind of kopiah Muslim men wears). So its commonly found in hat material suppliers. And they are more rubbery than foamy.

So if you’re in town and looking for one, you can just say ‘busa ati untuk buat topi’. We had a hard time asking the locals about busa ati. xD

Price: (As of Nov 2015) 30,000 IDR per piece of 2mm thickness. One piece is about 1.2m x 2.5m.

50,000 IDR per piece of 4mm thickness. One piece is also about 1.2m x 2.5m

64 :: C2AGE Day 2 (END)

IMG_0137Ready for day 2! I went to the event with Saffron first since Xan will arrive later. I got super lazy to cosplay on that day (even though I prepared the costume for M-21 already) so I think pretty much all the helpers/organizers ended up not cosplaying that day as well. There was actually an interview session for King and Saffron on that day. I kept calling Xan to ask if she’s arrived at the event. Little did she know, I kept rushing her so I don’t need to be the interpreter for Saffron on stage (LOL) So the moment she arrived, she kinda got thrown on stage, I’m sorry airen.
